Admissions to BSc courses at UMU are made based on merit in Class 12. However, the allocation of seats at UMU is subject to rules of reservation. According to the Usha Martin University seat reservation policy, a total of 36% of seats are reserved for the SC/ST candidates. Out of this 36%, 26 percent seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes. The rest of the 10% seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribe candidates.
