Nanotechnology is making things at an incredibly small scale and is one of the most exciting and fast moving areas of Science today. Some nanomaterials are naturally occurring, you can find them everywhere, in volcanic ash, ocean spray, fine sand and dust. Naturally-occurring nanostructures are also present in plants and animals.
With Nanotechnology, scientists can create nanostructures themselves nowadays, by rearranging the atoms of an object, they can make new nanomaterials with new properties that are stronger, lighter, or different in color. Their properties also change with time and that is where the power of nanotechnology can be gauged. Food technologists are working to create novel products that may be of benefit to health and diet. For example, the nanosilver particle has antibacterial properties that can be used in food contact material such as cutting boards, food supplements. 
Also, there are nanosensors in the touchscreen phones we use today that use the heat from our fingers to unlock the screen every day. So, the nanocomponents and atomic-level molecules can do wonders if used in a sensible, safe, and experimental manner.
