Students who passed Class 12 (Higher Secondary) from a recognised board alongside meeting specific subject requirements can pursue a BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) at Bankura University. A subject combination of Mathematics with Computer Science or Statistics as one of the two topics is required to complete class 10+2 before admission. The required minimum cumulative score for admissions stands at 45 to 50 percent for students in the general category and 40 to 45 percent for students in the reserved category groups including SC/ST/OBC.

The admission requirements for BCA programme at Bankura University require candidates to have completed their 12th standard examination from an accredited board with an aggregate score of 50% or more in Mathematics and Computer Science or Business Economics and Mathematics.
