For becoming a tax lawyer, you need to do Masters in tax law and for that, you need LL.B. or any integrated law degree from authorised UGC. So, if you are sure you want to go for tax law, then it's better if you go with B.Com. LL.B.as in first hand, you'll be getting enough idea regarding tax.

Also see being eligible for UPSC based on the stream is not enough you also need to be within the Age limit as well as mentioned in the UPSC Civil Services Exam Age Limit: Candidate must be a minimum of 21 years of age and must not be more than 32 years of age.
