For UPSC, you need to be graduate first. Complete your graduation first in the discipline of your interest. I detest start preparing for logical questions, basic maths and General knowledge.

It takes 5 years to become a zoologist ( 3 years to complete B.Sc. in Zoology and 2 years to complete M.Sc. in Zoology). However, if you pursue an integrated course in zoology (B.Sc + M.Sc), you can become a zoologist in 4 years. This saves an year of your career. However, there are very few colleges providing integrated courses. Hence, the seats are less and competition is very tough.
