Because in BSc Nursing course at NEIGRIHMS, seats are limited to just 50, the institute is particularly strict about seat allocation. If you aren't there in person when your rank is called, your seat is immediately offered to the next person on the merit list.
Since the weather in Meghalaya can be unpredictable during August, it's a smart move to arrive in Shillong a day early. There are no "do-overs" or online alternatives for the document verification or medical exam!

Counselling for NEIGRIHMS BSc nursing is held in person at the NEIGRIHMS Shillong campus during the second week of August. If you are selected, you will need to complete document verification and pay admission fees immediately. Following this, the academic session usually kicks off by the third or fourth week of August. Since the course is fully residential, you will likely be asked to move into the nursing hostel just a day or two before classes begin.

The merit list for NEIGRIHMS BSc Nursing is usually prepared and published online during the first week of August. Unlike many colleges, the institute does not host its own entrance exam; instead, it ranks candidates strictly based on their NEET-UG scores. The internal application window closes in July. After that, all submissions are reviewed to create a list of eligible students. This list is further categorised on the basis of state and rank, and students are then invited for physical counselling in Shillong.

While the NEET-UG exam happens in early May, the specific application for NEIGRIHMS usually opens between late June and early July. You must apply separately on the institute's website after your NEET results are declared. This second application is vital because it places you in the institute's internal merit pool. Missing this window means you cannot participate in their specific counseling, even if you have a high NEET score.
