Chennai Mathematical Institute will release the CMI Entrance exam 2026 notification for the academic session 2026-2027 in the second week of February.

But the CMI entrance exam has already released the exam date and the CMI 2026 application process will begin on March 1, 2026.

No, you cannot take direct admission in the second year of the undergraduate programme at Chennai Mathematical Institute. You need to appear for the entrance exam and interview and get selected for admission in the first year of the programme. Visit the institutes official website for more information.

First of all, you have not mentioned a particular course which you want to pursue. However, For B.Sc. (Hons. ) (Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics) Eligibility Criteria: Students must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised school or board. Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. in Physics: Applicant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board. There is a common entrance examination for both the B.Sc. (Hons. ) programs. You need not select your course at the time of applying. The choice can be made after admission. For Ph.D. , students should write the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST).

The cutoff will also depend on your pear performance. As it is new course the cutoff will not be too high but can expect to be 60%
