The candidate should have a minimum aggregate mark of 55% in their LLB or equivalent degree in order to be considered for the LL.M. in Criminal Law at NALSAR University of Law.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the major entrance exam for admission into NALSAR's LL.M. course.

There is no limit on the number of attempts for the CLAT PG (LLM) exam. Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they wish, provided they meet the eligibility criteria, which includes:

Educational Qualification: A LL.B. (3-year or 5-year) degree from a recognised university.
Minimum Marks: 50% (General/OBC) and 45% (SC/ST/PwD) in LL.B.
No Age Limit: There is no upper age restriction for appearing in CLAT PG.
Since the exam is conducted once a year, candidates can attempt it annually. 

As of now, the CLAT PG (Common Law Admission Test for Postgraduate courses) is conducted once a year by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). There are no official announcements indicating that the exam will be held twice a year in the foreseeable future. Therefore, candidates should plan their preparation accordingly, keeping in mind the annual schedule. On average, approximately 15,000 candidates register for the CLAT PG (Common Law Admission Test for Postgraduate courses) each year. For instance, in the CLAT 2025 exam, 10,948 candidates registered, with 10,282 appearing for the test. 
 The number of applicants has been increasing, with around 15,000 candidates expected to appear for CLAT PG 2026.
