Admission to B.E. / B.Tech courses is open in Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering and Technology, SDMCET. The basic admission is done through KCET / COMEDK entrance, while the rest seats are there in management quota.
The aggregate of at least 45% must have been obtained in the candidates' 10+2 in relevant subjects. Online application forms are released by the competent authority along with required documents.

The faculty members in the University B.D.T College of Engineering are qualified and experienced, and most of them have PhDs. In all, there are about 128 faculty members in this college, which favors a good number of 1:4 between a faculty member and student for better personal attention. Most of the faculty members have around 25 to more years of teaching experience, thus creating an excellent academic atmosphere for the students. The cut-off marks vary according to courses and years for admission into Visvesvaraya Technological University's University B.D.T College of Engineering. KCET 2024 cutoff marks for B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering were 37,388 while others such as Electronics were relatively higher as there was a great demand from students. Admission is not possible directly in University B.D.T College of Engineering; instead, admissions are substantially done through the CET conducted by the Government of Karnataka. Candidates must have 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with an aggregate mark of minimum 45% - 40% for the reserved categories. Admission is purely on the basis of merit under the CET and government rules and reservation policies. Also, lateral entry options available for Diploma holders. Therefore, for a seat in the engineering courses of the college, the aspiring students are required to appear for the CET.
