A CUET-PG score of 170 is generally considered a good one if you belong to the General AI category, as most popular courses are up for grabs, such as M.Sc. in Botany, M.A. in Sociology, with a cutoff score of 165 and 170, respectively. For the OBC AI category, even the most competitive courses typically have slightly lower cutoff scores. Overall, a score of 170 should get you the most popular courses irrespective of your category. If your priorities include affordability, legacy academics, flexible structure, and a degree from a recognised central university — AU's MA might work well. However, if you're looking for up-to-date curriculum, strong industry exposure, vibrant campus culture, and extracurricular vibrancy, you may want to explore alternatives such as SHUATS (Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences) — which, in Allahabad, is considered among the best for mass communication with more modern offerings (though fees tend to be higher) .
