Yes, SVNIRTAR is a Govt. owned institution. SVNIRTAR, Cuttack was formerly a part of Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), and was known as Central Institute of Prosthetic and Orthotic Training (CIPOT). SVNIRTAR, Orissa is now directly under the administrative and financial control of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, formerly the Ministry of Welfare.

To get lateral entry into Diploma courses in Bhubanananda Orissa School of Engineering (BOSE), Cuttack, after +2 Science, the student usually requires passing his or her 10 + 2 (Intermediate/PUC) i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects in council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha. This is mainly through merit-based whereby one is admitted through the scores they have received in the qualification examination. It normally does not have an age limit and the process is conducted by registering on the Odisha State Admission Management System (SAMS) portal.

No, students seeking admission to Ravenshaw University BA courses must have completed the Class 12 examination. Moreover, candidates belonging to the general category must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates who belong to the SC/ST categories must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Based on these scores, students are ranked and allocated a seat. The candidates must provide correct information while applying, as all information is cross-checked later at the reporting stage.
