Mess is extra, so our total comes to around INR 1 Lacs once you add food. I've heard boys pay INR 72 k for hostels off-campus in Kompally, plus mess. Overall, the hostel is decent and safe, but the total annual cost, including food, ends up closer to INR 1 lakh.
