Appear for the entrance exam: CUSAT uses its own admission test, the CUSAT CAT (Common Admission Test), for MCA admissions. 

Register online:

Visit the official CUSAT admissions portal. 

Complete “New Candidate Registration, ” fill personal and academic details, upload scanned photograph/signature, and select MCA (or other preferred programmes) as course choices. 

Pay the application fee. For general category the fee is ₹ 1,100; for Kerala SC/ST candidates it's ₹ 500. 

Select programme preference: After the exam and rank list are out, log in to your profile and register options in order of preference (e.g. MCA Regular, MCA Cost‑sharing, campus preference, etc.).

Seat allotment / counselling: CUSAT will allot seats based on your CAT rank + options submitted + eligibility + seat availability (quota / regular / cost‑sharing). 

Document verification and fee payment: If allotted a seat, you must complete admission formalities (submit required documents, pay fees, etc.) to confirm admission.

MBA first-year tuition varies in India from affordable rates at government universities to high-priced tuition at major private universities. Public and government university fees are somewhat lower than other types of institutions, with average costs between ₹200,000-₹500,000 for the first year; these institutions generally provide subsidies to their students, and because of their subsidized nature and emphasis on making education accessible, they appeal to those that want to maximise the bang for their buck.

Private universities and top-tier institutions typically charge very high tuition rates—between ₹800,000-₹1,500,000 for the first year for the leading Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) and premier schools—and total costs for these schools can go as high as ₹1,700,000-₹2,700,000. The globally recognised ISB in Hyderabad, as an example, charges even more, with first-year tuition often exceeding ₹2,000,000. The tuition fees will include coverage of tuition, library access, and in some cases, hostel and mess charges, but there may be additional costs associated with purchasing additional study materials, or additional costs for international immersion programme participation.

Mid-tier private institutions typically charge anywhere between ₹400,000-₹800,000 for the first year of their courses. These mid-tier institutions represent a compromise between affordability and providing decent facilities and providing placement support. Ultimately, the choice of which institution to attend is based upon individual budget constraints, future career aspirations, and anticipated returns on placement and networking opportunities.
