No, candidates are not allowed to get direct admission to DPharm course at Brainware University. To be eligible for the course, candidates are required to complete their Class 12 specifically from Science Subjects. Further, appear for BET (Brainware Eligibility Test) to be considered for admission. The BET is an MCQ-based test that shortlists candidates for various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses offered at Brainware University. 

The Brainware University DPharm admission is entrance-based. The university conducts its in-house entrance examination i.e., BET (Brainware Eligibility Test). To apply for this entrance examination, candidates are required to qualify for the basic eligibility criteria first that states, candidates must complete Class 12 with at least an aggregate of 50%, and must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology as the main subject in higher senior secondary. 

The eligibility criteria required by the university to grant admission to a DPharm course, candidates must qualify their Class 12 with at least an aggregate of 50% in their Class 12. Additionally, candidates must have completed their Class 12 from Physics, Chemistry Mathematics/ Biology subjects. After qualifying for the eligibility criteria candidates are required to clear the BET entrance examinations. The last process of seat allocation is done according to the scores achieved in this entrance examination.  

At Kalyani University, the tuition fee of B.Ed. ranges to INR 14.4 K. The duration of the course is 2 years which is spread across 4 semesters. The intake capacity is of 50 and common eligibility criteria is Bachelors or masters’s degree with at least 50% aggregate or B.E./BTech/BCA/MCA with 55% marks in science and/or mathematics as core subject. The selection is merit based and are granted on the basis of scores in accepted examinations and as per the NCTE norms. Students in the BPharma Lateral Entry admission programme receives direct admission to the second year of the BPharma course.

Brainware University follows a seat reservation policy for BPharm courses and other courses. The university provides reservations for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD according to the policies of the Department of Higher Education, West Bengal. Additionally, a 5% mark relaxation will be applied for all reserved category candidates (except programmes under the School of Law). 

The BPharma (Lateral Entry) programme is designed for candidates who have completed a Diploma in Pharmacy (DPharm) or an equivalent qualification. Lateral entry allows these candidates to join the BPharm course in the second year or the third semester. There is no such difference between the curriculum of both courses, as from the second year onwards the students study the same subject, no matter if they are either pursuing BPharm or BPharm Lateral.
