IIITDM Kancheepuram seat intake for MDes programme is 20 seats, which is the least in comparison to the other UG And PG programme offered by the Insitution. The seats are offered entrance-based and depends on candidates' performance in the Common Entrance Exam for Design, popularly known as CEED, conducted by IIT Bombay. In the case of candidates having valid CEED scores, a category-wise merit list is prepared based on CEED scores.

Yes, Admissiobn dates are out for MDes at IIITDM Kancheepuram. Admission to the MDes programme is completely entrance-based and depends on candidates' performance in the Common Entrance Exam for Design, popularly known as CEED, conducted by IIT Bombay. Registration for CEED started on October 6, 2024, and will close on November 6, 2024.

IIITDM Kancheepuram has been ranked as one of the top engineering colleges in India. Tamil Nadu. It was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India in 2007. It is one of the two IIITDMs, the other one is IIITDM Jabalpur. The Institution has been ranked 184th in he engineering category. Also the placement record is decent, 85% of students got placed. A total of 286 students registered for the placements, among which 279 job offers were distributed.

| M.E./M.Tech | Candidate must have passsed B.E./B.Tech. in relevant stream and obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category candidates) from an AICTE/UGC approved institution recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto. Final year appearing students may also apply on provisional basis. |
| MBA/PGDM | Candidate must have completed Bachelor degree of 3/4 years duration with above mentioned marks from any recognised University/Institute. 45% marks for BC categories. Candidate who are appearing for the final year degree examination are also be eligible. Degree obtained by Distance Mode Program should have recognition by Joint Committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC/DEB. Candidate who passed all the subjects of the three years of any Degree course in one sitting is not eligible for admission. |

Govt. should have passed all the subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, with minimum of 35% marks in each subject. Candidates who appeared or are appearing for SSC or equivalent examination being held in April/ May-2023, and whose results are yet to be declared can also apply. There is no age restriction. |
