The University announces the fellowship of INR 50,000 to INR 75,000 per month depending upon the academic qualifications, research competencies and publications for a maximum period of four years. For this fellowship, candidates can apply through the Common Research Entrance Test (CRET). Apart from this, many other merit and need-based scholarships are also offered such as POSCO Asian Scholarship, Poverty-Cum-Merit Scholarship, namely Khiragovinda, Post-Metric Scholarship, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship, etc. 

Utkal University accepts Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) scores for admission to MBA (Financial Management) and MBA (Rural Management) courses. However, for the MBA (Agribusiness) course, candidates with a valid score of CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ ICAR-AIEEA PG/ TISSNET can apply. Those who do not possess scores of the pre-mentioned entrance exams for the MBA in Agribusiness course can also apply via UMAT, which is also conducted by Utkal University.

Candidates must note that there is no other provision for admission to the MBA programmes.

Utkal University selects students for MA based on entrance test scores. This test is conducted by the university itself. The merit list for the same is released by the university before the seat allocation process.
