e-Kalyan scholarship is for SC, ST, or OBC category students. Also, they must be residents of Jharkhand. e-Kalyan scholarship also considers the total annual family income, which must fall below the government-specified limits to ensure the aid reaches economically weaker sections. Students must also maintain a clean academic record without failed subjects in the previous year.

Since St. Xavier's College is an autonomous institution, it has the freedom to design its own examination and assessment patterns. Students are evaluated through a mix of internal assessments, semester-end examinations, and practical projects. There is a very strict attendance requirement of 75% to be eligible for these exams. The difficulty level is generally considered fair, and the questions are syllabus-based.

Yes, the BA fee at St. Xavier's College, Ranchi is generally higher than many other local, government-affiliated colleges like Ranchi Women's or Marwari College, where annual fees are often under INR 5,000. SXC's BA programs range from INR 39,900 - 76,750 annually, depending on the major and student board. These costs are still lower than private colleges like Amity, but still, it is located at the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to costs, given its autonomous status, superior infrastructure, and higher placement packages.

St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, offers a total of 175 seats for the BA English programme, and the classes are held in two sessions. Because English is a foundational and traditional subject, these seats fill up very quickly during the first round of admission. It is one of the larger departments in the Arts faculty at St. Xavier's, but the high number of applicants still makes getting a BA seat here a very competitive task for most students.
