Also, students must meet basic eligibility by holding a 4-year bachelor's degree with good records, a total GPA of 3.5 on 4 point scale, and showing English language requirement. Students must also submit GRE scores, LORs, SOP, resume to improve the chances of selection.

Also, students must be involved in internships, research work, and industry projects to strengthen their application. The technical programs demand prior experience in mathematics or relevant fields.

Many Texas A&M University programs have moved to a test-optional policy, but these standardized tests are highly valued and help in standing out. It also helps if the academics of an applicant were not that good. Programs like MBA still require GMAT as an application requirement.

Currently, Texas A&M University has a test optional policy which suggests the SAT or ACT is not mandatory for admissions. However, submitting these scores can strengthen the candidate's application, especially if the academic part of the applicant is not that strong. 

For applicants who submit SAT scores, the middle 50% range of admitted students' SAT scores lies approximately between:

  • Composite SAT Score: 1140 to 1380

  • English (EBRW): 570 to 680

  • Math: 570 to 700

Average SAT score is around 1260, and the average ACT score of admitted students typically falls between 25 and 31.
