Congrats! You can get into mechanical branch if your AIR lies between 6000 to 7500. After 1st year you will have a chance of branch slide based on your 1st year score. You should at least get 9 CGPA in your first year. I got chemical engineering branch through counseling and after first year I changed to mechanical with a CGPA of 9.03. I'll prefer you to opt for the NIT, Tripura as this college has better placements than NIT, Warangal in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
