Through CPGET 2024, approximately 25,000 admissions were made. These seats are distributed among several courses that are offered through this entrance exam. For the academic year 2025-26 a similar number of seats are expected.

To be eligible for admission into a course, the candidate 

  • Must have passed the Qualifying Examination and secured the prescribed Minimum Marks in the subject (s)/ course (s) concerned as mentioned in the Information Brochure, and

  • Must have qualified in the Common PG Entrance Test conducted in the concerned subject in which admission is sought. For administrative reasons, the Convenor may, conduct the entrance test before the publication of the results of the qualifying examination concerned. Similar to other courses, students will be asked 100 questions in a duration of 90 minutes. Each question will carry one mark. Questions will be asked from the sections/subjects of physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Section-wise number of questions are provided in the table below

The CPGET marking scheme is as follows. 

  • There is no negative marking for the incorrect answer in the CPGET exam.
  • Candidates will be awarded 1 mark each for the correct answer.

In addition to completing the application form for the CPGET exam, candidates must submit an application fee. For the majority of categories, there is an application fee of INR 800. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, or PH categories must pay an application fee of INR 600. There is a 450 INR application fee for each extra topic.

Candidates need to pay an application fee along with filling out the application form for CPGET exam. There is an application fee of INR 800 for most categories. For candidates of SC/ST/PH categories, there is an application fee of INR 600. For every additional subject, there is an application fee of INR 450.

The reimbursement of fee/scholarship is allowed only for those who pursue a PG Programme for the 1st time. For those who have already pursued any PG Courses (Professional or Non-Professional) will not be provided hostel accommodation in the University/College hostels and will not be considered for any type of scholarship whatsoever, as per GOs in force. As per Govt. of T.S. Social Welfare (Edn) Dpartment Memo the fee/scholarship reimbursement is not allowed to such candidates. Further, the maximum age for the candidates to become eligible for fee/scholarship reimbursement is as per the Government of Telangana rules in force.

Admissions are conducted through a process of web based counseling. The schedule for certificate verification has been announced at the official website of the exam. Before allotment of admissions, the qualified and eligible candidates have to exercise options through web in the order of their preference. If the admitted candidates in each course should be found less than 10 after the second web options than that course will be cancelled for that academic year.

The Hall Tickets along with entrance schedules and necessary instructions are released on CPGET official websites ahead of the entrance tests. The candidates are supposed to download the Hall Tickets and affix a the latest passport size photograph (which is exactly similar to the one uploaded in the Online Application) in the space provided and get itself attested. Without the Hall Ticket (with self attested photograph), the candidate are not allowed to appear for entrance test.
