You need to have passed 12th from a recognised educational board. Preferably, humanities subjects as the main subjects of study at the 10+2 level, and a minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). Fee vary from institute to institute. Like for example in Kasturi Ram College Of Higher Education, the fee is INR 58,000; Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University fees is INR 23,000.

D.Ed Course can be pursued by students who have passed 10+2 (any stream) from a recognised board. The course has been designed to improve the elementary level teacher workforce in India. Diploma in Education is similar to D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education), JBT, D.T.Ed. (Diploma in Teachers Education) and ETT (Elementary Teacher Training) courses. D.Ed, JBT, D.El.Ed, D.T.Ed. And ETT courses have similar syllabus and course structure. These courses also offer similar job opportunities.

For D.Ed, you need to be 10+2 pass. D.Ed is a Diploma programe in education. So after your Diploma, you would not be eligible for D.Ed.
