Entry to the Vasavi College of Engineering also known as VCE for the B.E./B.Tech courses can be obtained without the Andhra Pradesh ECET. The admissions are most often through, TS EAMCET (70% capacity) apart from that there is a management quota (30% capacity). For the Management quota, there is no entrance test, but then the candidate must score 45% in their 10+2 (PCM). Andhra Pradesh ECET is meant for lateral entry into the second year only of the program.

The Andhra Pradesh ECET  that selects students to Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences depends on the particular branch and category. The cutoff ranks for most courses,   such as Computer Science were in  range of 5,000-7,000 for general candidates. In other branches like mechanical or civil engineering the cutoff was between 10000 to 15000.
