GIBS Business School promotes total personal growth through the integration of academic studies and structured skill-building programmes with practical experience. In addition to their regular Academic coursework, students participate in communication training, aptitude development, leadership Workshops, and personality development programmes to develop confidence, presentation skills, teamwork, and professional/Workplace Etiquette. Students at GIBS Business School also have the opportunity to participate in various clubs, cultural events, sporting activities, and have the chance to develop their social and interpersonal skills using the real-world confidence gained from participating in many different types of activities during their time at GIBS. Students are involved in mentorship and/ or internship opportunities, and various live project opportunities and value-added programmes to help develop them as individuals, as well as academically.

Through its systematic method of substantial mentorship, hands-on experiences, and ongoing learning, GIBS enables students to have long-term clarity in their careers. Students participate in an individual counselling with developmental assessments and assessments of personality from the start through mentoring programmes, enabling students to develop self-awareness of their strengths, preferences, and competencies for different career choices.

Additionally, students are exposed to different employment roles and sectors via GIBS' provision of actual internships, live company projects, visits to companies, and guest speakers. As students gain hands-on working exposure to different jobs within companies, this exposure enables them to explore a variety of employment options before deciding on one.

The skill sets that students will need for their respective career paths are developed through regular training sessions focused on communication skills, aptitude development, leadership skills, and resume writing.

With the ongoing guidance, support and feedback of faculty mentors, industry professionals and the placement cell, GIBS assists students with identifying specific career aspirations and developing a plan for achieving those aspirations.

GIBS continuously keeps its courses relevant to the current industry landscape by frequently updating the syllabus and adding real-world application (e.g., case studies, live work) to prepare students for successful careers in the global economy. Each course incorporates input from various professionals who have successful careers in their respective fields, and incorporates live projects, case studies, industry mentoring, and value-added credentials into the curriculum to address the needs of an ever-changing business environment. The curriculum is evaluated and updated periodically to account for trends associated with Industrial Revolution 4.0, while also including emerging disciplines like Digital Marketing, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, and Fintech, resulting in students obtaining skillsets that both match the business landscape as it is today, as well as where it will be tomorrow. The inclusion of dual specializations, practical training modules, and interaction with industry practitioners enables students to adapt to the changing market and make themselves marketable across multiple industries.

Clubs are an important aspect of the leadership development process and give students real experiences where they can plan, organize and independently manage activities. GIBS offers a variety of different types of clubs (academic, cultural, marketing, finance, human resource management (HRM) and entrepreneurship) that provide students with the opportunity to develop responsibility by conducting events, coordinating with teammates, and managing budgets, and working with industry guests within their community. Through this hands-on experience, students also build decision-making capabilities, develop teamwork, and improve their communication and problem-solving skills as well as their time management skills. As students engage with their peers through leading initiatives and working on diverse teams, they will gain confidence and practical leadership experience that will prepare them for a career in a management position within the corporate world.
