In order to qualify for the Engineering rank list, candidates must achieve a minimum normalised score of 10 in the Engineering Entrance Examination. Those who fail to meet this score requirement will not be included in the rank list. It's important to note that SC/ST candidates are exempt from the minimum score requirement, but they will be disqualified if they fail to answer at least one question. The candidates who fail to answer at least one question in the examination will be disqualified and cannot find a place in the Engineering Rank list.

The AMIE exam is conducted in english or hindi medium. Candidates can follow the exam instructions to know more about the exam and exam guidelines. AMIE exam will be conducted in either IEI state or local centers. CAndidates must bring their AMIE membership and admit card while appearing the AMIE exam else they will not be granted permission to take the AMIE exam.

No. Apart from KEAM exam, scores of no other entrance exam are accepted for engineering admission in Kerala. All the participating colleges of KEAM for BTech admision will consider the KEAM rank for engineerig admisison. An equal weightage of 50:50 shall be given to the normalised score obtained in the KEAM Engineering exam and the grade/marks obtained in the final year of the qualifying examination (plus two) for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together, after effecting the standardization procedure.

AMIE exam is conducted by Institute of Engineers (India). IEI is a professional body that conducts AMIE exam twice in a year; summer and winter exam. Qaulifying AMIE exam is considered equivalent to undergradute degree and recognized by various authorities, such as UPSC, AICTE, UGC, and many more.

KEAM was shifted from the traditional pen and paper mode to computer based test in 2024. Now, a candidate is shown questions on computer screen. All answers have to be entered using the keyboard or mouse.

KEAM will now be held in computer based test mode. There will be one paper with three sections (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) for BTech candidates and two (Physics, Chemistry) for BPharm candidates.
- The KEAM entrance exam for engineering courses will consist of 150 questions, with Mathematics having 75 questions, Physics having 45 questions and Chemistry having 30 questions.
- Each correct answer will have 4 marks and wrong answers will lead to -1 marks.
- Candidates will have 180 minutes to complete the exam.
- For candidates appearing for KEAM BPharm ONLY, the entrance exam will have 45 questions in Physics and 30 questions in Chemistry, to be co

In 2024, KEAM transitioned form a pen and paper based test to a computer based test. The exam started to be conducted in phases, as it would not be possible to arrange over 1.2 lakh computer terminals at the same time. Since the exam is now held in shifts, normalisation of scores for engineering and pharmacy exams has been introduced. Alo the syllabus of the KEAM exam has been changed in 2024. The new revised syllabus must be downloaded from the KEAM official website and used for the exam preparation.

Candidates can get the Associate membership of IEI through filling on the AMIE application form and qualifying the AMIE exam. All the associate membership holders have validity equivalent to the undergradute degree from any recognised university in india.
