Among all MET sections, students often find Mathematics section to be the most difficult to prepared. Students should check and focus more on important topics and repeated questions to prepare for Mathematics.

BITS HD exam pattern is now available. As per the question paper format, there will be a total of 2 sections in test 1 - Core Mathematics and English Language Skills & logical reasoning. Papers 2 & 3 will have one section each. Total duration to complete test 1 is 60 minutes. Test 2 is held for 120 minutes.

Candidates are not allowed to carry the following items inside the exam centre -

  • Geometry or Pencil box.  
  • Eatables. 

  • Handbag.  

  • Mobile Phone/ Earphone/ Microphone/ Pager/Calculator.  

  • Any metallic item or electronic gadgets/devices. 

  • Purse

Candidates appearing for BITS HD exam must follow guidelines properly. They must reach the test centre before exam time along with hall ticket and a valid ID proof. No late entry will be accepted. In addition, physical calculator is allowed inside exam hall.

No, the GATE 2026 question paper has not been released. The expected release date is last week of February 2026.

The difficulty level of GATE question paper changes every year, as different IITs and IISc Bangalore conduct the competitive exam on rotational basis. However, based on the last past 5 to 10 years of GATE paper review, the difficulty level usually remains moderate to tough mostly.

There is no one IIT that is consistent with GATE question paper difficulty level. However, based on students and subject experts, it is observed that IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore has a record of setting the toughest GATE question paper so far. Apart from that, IIT Kanpur is also known for setting difficult GATE question paper, especially for EE (electrical engineering) branch. 

Therefore, it is advised to make concepts strong while preparing for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

GATE counselling 2026 will be conducted by COAP and CCMT, which will be done by respective IITs and IISc on rotational basis. 

  • Through COAP, students will be offered admission to IITs
  • Through CCMT, students will be offered admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

This year, IIT Roorkee is conducting COAP counselling 2026. The dates have been released. COAP registrations are ongoing.

The admit card usually stays open for download till the exam day. Still, it's better you get it early once it comes out, so you have enough time if something goes wrong. Downloading it soon helps you fix any small issue before the exam without stress.
