St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, offers a total of 175 seats for the BA English programme, and the classes are held in two sessions. Because English is a foundational and traditional subject, these seats fill up very quickly during the first round of admission. It is one of the larger departments in the Arts faculty at St. Xavier's, but the high number of applicants still makes getting a BA seat here a very competitive task for most students.

Honestly the biggest mistake people make is waiting until they feel "ready" to speak. That day never comes.

What actually works is daily small practice — not big sessions. Talk to yourself while commuting. Describe what you're doing out loud. Watch one YouTube video in English and repeat sentences after the speaker. Do this for 30 days and you'll notice a real difference in your confidence.

Also, stop focusing only on grammar. Spoken English is about chunks and rhythm, not perfect sentences. "I'll get back to you on that." "Could you say that again?" "I think what you mean is." — these small ready-made phrases are what fluent speaker
