The test is fast. The total Duolingo English Test duration is 1 hour. It is efficient.

  • Introduction (5 mins): Setup, microphone check, and ID submission.
  • Adaptive Test (45 mins): The main graded section assessing all four skills.
  • Writing & Speaking (10 mins): Open-ended video and writing samples sent to universities.

Students should keep in mind the following errors to be avoided while using compound words:

·       Do not forget to use hyphen, wherever needed. Similarly, don't use hyphens when it's not needed. For example: She is a well-known actor; The book is well known.

·       Writing open compound words, as one word. For example: This coffeeshop (instead it should be coffee shop) is opne 24*7.

·       Writing closed compound words as open ones. For example: Have you finished your home work? (instead it should be homework)

When I was applying for studies abroad, I remember being confused by a similar question — IELTS vs TOEFL vs others — because everyone had a different opinion and most advice was very generic. Over time I realised the problem wasn't the test itself, but the lack of clarity on what actually fit my situation.

I ran into the same issue later with health insurance. Policies looked fine on paper, just like test score requirements do, but the real strength only shows when you look deeper. That's when I personally used BimaScore and Bima Analyze. What helped me was not sales talk, but a simple breakdown — a 400–1000 score that reflected

Hi.

In raw marks (out of ~800):

  • Very good chance: 600–700+

  • Decent chance: 520–600

  • Borderline: below 500

BA LLB is competitive, so higher GT + English score matters a lot.

For BA (Programme) (NOT Hons)

You can apply for BA Programme in many universities.

 Required Score

  • 70–85 percentile is usually enough

  • Raw marks: 500–600+

For BA (Hons) Political Science / History (DU)

Not possible at DU, because:

  • You did not study Polity or History in Class 12

  • DU requires the same domain subject

(Some other universities may allow it, but DU does not.)

 What Matters MOST for You

Since you don't have Polity/History:

Focus on BA LLB

  • Maximize E
