First of all, if you get into a good college through CLAT there is no chance that you will not get a placement. Even if you do not, you have so many avenues, like the judiciary, the Indian Armed Forces, the Civil Service, law officers in banks and government companies, litigation, and many more. The law opens a lot of avenues. After completing the course, you would have a wide range of career options, like law firms, litigation, the civil service, and the judiciary. For law firms, the average package would be around INR 1216 LPA if you graduated from the top 5 national law universities. I hope this will help you.

Yes, if your aim is the only law and the best law college. So you should drop a year. However, it is not compulsory if you are intelligent and prepared for the Common Law Admission Test, so you don't need to drop a year. The Common Law Admission Test is a centralized national-level government entrance test for admissions to 22 NLUs (national law universities) in India. Most self-financed and private law schools in India also use the CLAT scores for admissions to law colleges or institutes. I hope this will help you.

Your overall profile which includes your Entrance exam score (MH-CET/CMAT/CAT), 10th, 12th and Graduation marks, work experience (if any), extra curricular activities and P3T test score. The cut-off is generally around 80-85 percentile but there have been instances of people with 75 percentile getting called while people with 91 percentile being rejected all on basis of the whole profile.
