The cutoff marks required for MBA admission vary depending on the institution, the specific program, and the year of application. However, there are some general trends that you can follow.
For top-tier MBA programs in India, such as those offered by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), you will need to score in the 99th percentile or higher on the Common Admission Test (CAT). For other reputable MBA programs, you will typically need to score in the 80th to 95th percentile on the CAT.
Here is a table of average CAT percentiles for admission to MBA programs at different levels:
| Level of MBA Program | Average CAT Percentile |
|---|---|
| Top-tier MBA programs (IIMs) | 99th percentile or higher |
| Other reputable MBA programs | 80th to 95th percentile |
| Less competitive MBA programs | 60th to 75th percentile |
