No, you will not be considered if you do not meet MITID criteria. Candidate must meet cutoff criteria in their categories to get admission in MITID DAT 2026. If they fail to meet the cut-off, he or she will not be considered for admission.

Allotment of seats for MITID DAT 2026 is based on merit rank of candidate in entrance exam. Candidates who have a higher MITID DAT 2026 merit rank will be called first for the first round of seat allotment. Result for seat allotment will be announced on the website.

The MITID DAT 2026 written exam was conducted on April 5, 2026. The question paper inlcuded both subjective and objective questions. The written exam is the 1st stage of the entrance exam and is used to shortlist candidates for a Studio Test & Personal Interview. The final results of MITID DAT is prepared by considering the perfomance of the candidate in the written exam and the Studio Test & Personal Interview. Any candidate who fails to appear in the 2nd stage of the exam will not be included in the merit list.

The application form for MITID DAT 2026 is currently OPEN.
The last date to fill out the MITID DAT 2026 application form is February 28, 2026.
Candidates have to fill the application form in online mode. When filling out the application form, one has to use genuine and verifiable information. At the time of MITID DAT 2026 counseling, information furnished in the application form will be matched with the original documents. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate may be disqualified.

MITID DAT 2026 application fee for Indian candidates is INR 3000. Candidates belonging to NRI, CIO, PIO, and Foreign national categories need to pay INR 4500.

MITID DAT 2026 application form is open in online mode. Applications submitted in offline mode will not be accepted. As part of the application process, the candidate will have to get registered, fill in all the details, upload documents, and pay the application fee.

The Studio Test and Personal Interview for the M.Des programs will be conducted in the third week of May 2026. Candidates who have qualified in the written exams are eligible to appear in the Studio Test.
The detailed schedule for the Studio Test and Interview is released on the admission portal of MIT Institute of Design. The candidate had to attend the exam as per the schedule and slot mentioned in the admit card.
