If the Diploma is a PG Diploma, then Lateral entry is generally allowed. But in case a mere Diploma, you should be a graduate to do a PG degree then. Besides, you can check with the institution.

Just to clarify, no book or teacher can make you a director. See, a film director makes films and films are a medium for story telling.
