You can become a film or video editor from any stream. There's no strict requirement. Students from Arts, Commerce, or even Science all do well in editing—the real growth comes from practice, not the stream.

What matters is choosing a place where you actually edit regularly, work on real footage, and learn by doing. In that sense, AAFT is a very good choice because the training is completely practical, with students editing short films, news pieces, music videos, and a lot of hands-on projects.
