In India, the average salary for various job profiles are as follows:
- Fire Protection Engineer- INR 5 lakh
- Fire Safety Officer- INR 6 lakh
- Fire Engineer- INR 4 lakh
- Fire & Safety Consultant- INR 6 lakh

Fire Safety engineering requires more practical knowledge. Candidates can acquire the same through industrial training and visits. Students get the knowledge of the design and layout of equipment, processes and supporting systems along with fire prevention, control, suppression, and extinguishment. These skills are difficult to acquire which makes this course very tough.

Fire Safety Engineering basically teaches students ways and measures to protect people, property, and the environments from fire. The stream is also known as Safety Engineering which is the practice of applying chemistry, physics, and engineering principles from mechanical, electrical, fire safety, and civil engineering to control harmful and destructive effects of fire and smoke.

National Fire Service College was established in 1955, in Nagpur, Mumbai. The college is popular college for its B.Tech in Fire Engineering course. The college accepts JEE Mains Score.
For General Category: 90 percentile or 1 Lakh rank is required
For OBC Category: appx 2 Lakh is required.
The fee for the course is INR 96,000. It is a 4-year course offered to 60 deserving candidates.
