The applications for most private universities in France usually open up 12 months before the beginning of the semester. Most public university platforms close their primary application windows between December and March of the preceding year, while private business schools, engineering schools and rolling admissions stretch until May through July of the admission year.

Application for the September intake in France generally opens between October and December of the previous year with most applications submitted between January and May. For public universities and Etudes en France procedures, applications may start as early as October.
