GATE Application Fee

It is to be noted that the candidates of choice modification is free of cost and did not required to pay any fee for it, but the change of in some other details would cost students a fee as mentioned below:
Change in choice of examination cities: Free of cost
Change of existing paper: 500
Add a second paper (from given combinations concerning the primary paper): 500 plus a suitable amount per paper for the candidates category
Change of gender to female: 500
Change of gender from female to any other gender: 500+850 = 1350
Change of category to SC/ST: 500
Change of category from SC/ST to any other: 500 + 850 - 1350
Change from Non-PwD to PwD: 500
Change from PwD to Non-PwD: 500 + 850 = 1350
Any other change in category (not mentioned above): 500

Check below for the documents needed to be uploaded to complete the GATE 2024 registration process:
- A high-quality image of a candidate's photograph conforming to the specified requirements (File size should be between 2KB and 200KB)
- Good quality image of candidate's signature conforming to the specified requirements (File size should be between 2KB and 150KB)
- Scanned copy of the Eligibility Certificate in pdf format (Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate or Certificate from the Head of the Department/ Institute (format specified in Appendix A of the Information Brochure) (File size should be between 10KB and 300KB)
- Scanned copy of Category (SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (File size should be between 10KB and 300KB)
- Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (File size should be between 10KB and 300KB)
- Scanned copy of Dyslexic Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (File size should be between 10KB and 300KB)
- Details of the valid Identity Document* (ID) (The same ID, in original, should be carried to the examination hall)
- Net-banking/debit card/credit card details for fee payment

Candidates will be required to log in again whenever they can get back online to check their payment status on the GOAPS website. If the payment is received, candidates can print their application form. If the payment was not received by GATE then he or she can also check the status of the transaction from the bank account. If the fee amount has been debited from his or her bank account but GOAPS does not acknowledge any fee payment, then the money will be credited back to their account. However, this may take a week or more after the closure of the application process. In such a situation, a candidate may initiate a fresh payment on GOAPS without waiting for the money to be credited back to the account. No, a candidate does not need to send a printout of the GATE application form to the organising institute or any other GATE zonal offices. The application process for GATE 2023 is online and requires required documents, details that should be uploaded via the application process. It is required to keep a copy of the GATE application form for future reference. However, it is not required to send a hard copy of the GATE application form to the organising institute. The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, will release the GATE 2024 application online on the official website. When a candidate fill out the application form online then he or she have to pay the GATE 2024 application fee and the application-fee is non-refundable. Online Net-banking payment details are mentioned below:
- While submitting the GATE 2024 application form, the website used to redirect to an online payment gateway page. Candidates need to choose the bank or mode of payment on this page, after which they are redirected to the website of the bank of their choice. - Candidates need to pay the fee via net banking or a debit card or an e-challan. - When a candidate will try to pay the fee he or she will be shown the fee amount and bank charges. Then, they have to confirm that the payment is for GATE 2024. - After successful payment of the GATE 2024 application form, candidates will be redirected to the GATE online application website. - If a student comes across any difficulty due to an internet connection or power failure, etc. And they are not sure whether the payment is processed or not, they need to login back to GOAPS and check the status of the payment. Students can also check the status with their bank. - Also, in case the fee amount is debited from a student's bank account and GOAPS does not acknowledge any fee payment, then the money will be credited back to the account within seven working days. - In such a case, a candidate may initiate a fresh payment using GOAPS even without waiting for the money to be credited back to the account, so that the application will be on time. - Once the payment is successful, a unique Fee Payment Number will be generated that must be saved by the candidate, as it will be used in the later stages when he/she fills out the GATE 2024 Application form. While filling out the GATE application form, if a power cut or internet connection fails during the submission of the application process, the candidate has to get back online to the GATE 2024 website. That means a candidate has to log in again to the GOAPS website and continue the application process. GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is conducted annually.
