It is really early for you to even think of starting preparing for GATE. The syllabus of GATE is same as that for engineering and you are still in 1st semester. Right? There could many changes in exam pattern in next four years. So I would advise you strongly to concentrate on studies of your engineering and think of this exam only after three years. You are interested in seeking admission to M.Sc in 'biochemistry" course in ICT, Mumbai. Right? Unfortunately, I could not find this course in the different courses offered by the institute. Yes, you are definitely eligible for different M tech courses once you clear GSTE and your B.Tech in agricultural engineering makes you eligible to appear for GATE exam. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about eligibility of GATE and all other issues.

There is no fixed GATE cut-off score.
If the exam paper is very easy, then many people will get very high gate score, so the cut off will increase.
Bombay has the more competetion and you should be below 150 to get design.
