GMR Institute of Technology offers one UG course and one PG course UG courses include BTEch and MTech, respectively. Admission to both courses is based on entrance exam scores followed by counselling. The college accepts EAMCET entrance exam and counselling for admission to BTech and Andhra Pradesh ECET exam and counselling for admission to M.Tech course. Further, the college also offers lateral entry in BTech, admisison to lateral entry is based on score obtained in Andhra Pradesh ECET.

No, GMR Institute of Technology offers entrance-based admission to its UG and PG courses. To be eligible for admission candidates are required to apply and appear for the accepted exam. The college accepts Andhra Pradesh EAMCET and Andhra Pradesh ECET exam followed by counselling for BTech and Andhra Pradesh PGECET and GATE exam followed by counselling for M.Tech Additionaly, candidates are required to fulfil the basic eligibility criteria set by the college.

AP EAMCET: All students who take up this particular engineering course get into GMRIT on the basis of the entrance test, Andhra Pradesh EAMCET. But they must score qualifying marks for taking part in the counseling conducted by the board, APSCHE.
JEE Main : Although very few get through by the GMRIT on merit from the JEE Main scores,
Management Quota: GMRIT accepts the management quota for direct admission on 10 +2 academic merits.
