Avasari offers fewer placements but has fewer high-paying opportunities. The government college, B.D.T College of Engineering, is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. Established in the year 1951, it was the only government engineering college in Karnataka in the olden days. Over the years, it shifted to various affiliations and it is now a constituent of the VTU since 24th of February 2011. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in every branch of engineering.
