This is actually a good question to ask before choosing a college, because a lot of private universities advertise "tech culture" but it doesn't really show up once you're on campus. In Haryana, a few names genuinely have something going on.

BML Munjal University in Gurgaon is probably the most established for this being close to the Hero Group's ecosystem and Gurgaon's startup scene gives students a lot of exposure, and their tech clubs and hackathon culture are fairly active. Amity and SRM also run their own coding clubs and periodic hackathons, though the experience can vary a lot depending on which specific campus and branch you're in.

Geeta University in Panipat is one that's built its coding culture a bit differently instead of leaving it to student clubs alone, they've folded it into the CSE curriculum itself through the Geeta Technical Hub. So instead of a coding club running occasional events on the side, students in tracks like AI & ML, Full Stack Development, or Cybersecurity are pushed toward certifications, live projects, and hackathons as part of how the programme is structured. They've reportedly run 25+ hackathons and delivered 150+ projects through this setup, with mentoring support tied in as well, in tie-ups with companies like AWS, Microsoft, Cisco, and GitHub.

The honest way to put it: at most universities, coding culture depends heavily on a handful of motivated students or a good club coordinator. At Geeta University, it seems to be something the institution is actively trying to build into the system rather than leave to chance which, for CSE students specifically, is a meaningful difference if you're someone who wants structured exposure rather than having to hustle for it yourself.

Amity University Gurugram is an excellent private university of Gurugram with student reviews from Shiksha reporting:

• Infrastructure: The university offers a calm campus with support for a range of Student-run Clubs & Societies. Further the university campus features other facilities such as a large sports complex, Wi-Fi, Library, etc. While students also report a good hostel environment and 2 mess facilities (Alok Kumar - B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2027).
• Placements: Recent placements in the BSc Nursing batch had 100% placements with average packages of INR 3 LPA to INR 5 LPA. While tio recruiters included Medanta, Fortis, Gangaram, and Narayana who also offered summer internships (Shubham - B.Sc. in Nursing - Batch of 2026).
