Yes, there is an entrance exam for admission to PhD course at Suryadatta College. In order to get admission, students either need to qualify for PhD Entrance Exam (PET), which is conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University at its own centres. Else, students who are CSIR UGC NET/ JRF/ GATE qualified or teacher fellowship holders or have passed MPhil from SPPU are exempted from PET exam. SIMMC offers admission to PhD across three Management specialisations. These are Marketing Management, Human Resource Management and Financial Management.

In order to get admission to PhD at Suryadatta Institute of Management & Mass Communication, students must have a PG degree with 55% aggregate in the respective subjects (5% relaxation is given to reserved category and candidates from Maharashtra domicile). Else, candidates who have cleared MPhil course word with 55% aggregate can also apply.
