You can check various subjects for UGC NET. There are 101 subjects. You can appear for UGC NET for subject of PG or most similar to that subject. You can appear for paper code 01 having topic like rural economics / development studies.

Admission to Ph.D. is based on NET/ SET/ GATE score. University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata offers a full-time/ part-time/ integrated Ph.D. programme with different specialisations.
