Several colleges offer the Masters in Education in Assam. Some of the best schools are the Gauhati University in Guwahati, which accepts students through the Gauhati University Entrance Test (GUET); Tezpur University in the course, admitting the students according to the Tezpur University Entrance Examination; Dibrugarh University in Dibrugarh, which also offers a Masters in Education with entry test under the Dibrugarh University Entrance Test (DUET). Assam University in Silchar also offers the course, for which entrance is through the AUS Entrance Exam. Each of these offers entrance into the respective institutions after clearing their entrance exams.

Eligibility
To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised university. 
Admission process
To apply, candidates must register online and pay a test fee of Rs. 2,000. Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the ACET. Shortlisted candidates are contacted by an Academic Counselor within three working days to schedule a personal interview. 
Admission procedure
Admissions to Ajeenkya DY Patil University programs are made strictly on merit through a centralized admission procedure. 

Students seeking to pursue the PhD admission at Kaziranga University must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

• A Master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks or is equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 10-point scale OR a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent.
• Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme with atleast 55% marks in aggregate or it's equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.

Note: A relaxation of 5% marks or it's equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates.
