The total seat intake for the BA and Integrated BA plus MA programmes offered at Gandhigram University is 120. Admission will be made subject to the reservation policy of the Government of India/ UGC Norms. The Gandhigram Rural Institute BA seat reservation policy is mentioned below:
- The SC/ ST applicants will be granted relaxation in admission
- Seats will also be reserved for certain special categories namely, Differently Abled, Wards of Defense Personnel, Sports Persons and, candidates hailing from North Eastern Regions, Jammu and Kashmir and, PM Cares Children scheme for supporting children who have lost both parents or legal guar

The Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University) has not released the 2023 placement statistics yet. However, according to the NIRF report 2023, 173 UG and, 16 Integrated PG programme students were placed during Gandhigram University placements in 2022. The median package offered to UG (three-year) students stood at INR 1.8 LPA. For Integrated PG students, the median package offered was INR 2.52 LPA.

The Gandhigram Rural Institute provides an opportunity for the BA programme students to apply for various scholarships. The eligible SC, ST, OBC and, PwD category students can avail the Central Sector Scholarship (postmatric) through the respective State Government. Gandhigram Rural Institute BA scholarships also include remittance of tuition fees. The eligible SC/ ST/ SCC and, PwD category students are exempted from remittance of tuition fees by submitting the prescribed application form at the time of admission.
