UMU BA admissions are done based on merit in the qualifying examination (Class 12). The university commences its admission process by releasing the application form. Interested students can submit their applications either in online or offline mode. In the online mode, the student can find the application form by visiting the university's official website. The form is located under the ‘Admissions section’. In the offline mode, students are required to first download the form and submit it at the admission office in Ranchi/Patna.

To be admitted to B.A. (Hons) English at Jesus and Mary College, the candidate must have at least 45% in class 12th in any stream from any recognized board. English from list A is compulsory in class 12th with any two subjects from list B1 and any one subject from either list B1 or list B2.

There is also department fest and there is also college fest. There are many seminar held in our college. There are also many society we can join drama, dance, mathematics, ncc, green society, etc.
