Cutoffs is around 80 percentile so you may not be able to get a call from IFMR. But still if you have exceptional profile then you may be able to get a call. They give decent weightage to profile of a candidate. If you have won any national level competition, participated in international level competition and are actively engaged in volunteering then it would be possible to get a call from IFMR. Rest depends on how well you perform in GD-PI.

Yes, you can apply through EDR round. The EDR applications are open till 15th January. The CAT cutoff for IFMR is 80 percentile. Your CAT score seems to be lower than the cutoff. However, IFMR follows profile-based shortlisting. The overall profile of the candidate including academic record, work experience and other achievements (represented country, state or district/ university in Sports, Debate, Drama, Moot Court, NCC (but not NSS) volunteering, activism) are also taken under consideration. Relaxation in cutoff will be provided for candidates with exceptional profile. You also have an option of applying through XAT/CMAT/GRE. The cu

IFMR accepts CAT/XAT/CMAT/GRE scores for its admission process. MAT scores are not considered. Applicants are first shortlisted based on their scores and overall profile. Shortlisted candidates will be called for WAT-PI rounds.

Last year cutoff for CMAT was 90 percentile. However, the overall profile of the candidate (including work experience, academic record, and achievements) is taken into consideration. Therefore, if a candidate has a score below the cutoff but has good national level or state level achievements, he stands a good chance of getting a WAT-PI call.

You have a decent chance. Your performance in PI alone does not decide your admission. It also depends on your performance in the WAT round and your overall profile. Since your CAT score is above the cut-off, you might have a chance.

Though IFMR is known from finance, other specializations like operations are equally good. IFMR has distinguished faculty in the area of operations. Though the percentage of students opting for operations is comparatively low, the placements for operations is pretty much the same as that for other specializations. In the previous batches, some of the students have been offered core operations roles.
Last year, the average package offered at IFMR was 9 LPA and the highest package was 18 LPA.
