In addition to national-level entrance exams, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Kakinada has the following eligibility criteria:

Candidates must have passed their 10+2/XII/HSC examination in 2020, 2021, or 2022 with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender).

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST and PwD candidates) from a recognised university.

Candidates appearing for their final year of graduation exams can also apply subject to submission of proof.

The IIFT admission process has three stages:

  • Entrance exam
  • Essay writing
  • Extempore and personal interview 

The PI and extempore round for 2023 was held from April 12–May 3, and the final merit list was released on May 31. 

Candidates who pass the exam cut-off are invited to the essay writing, group discussion (GD), and personal interview (PI) rounds. The essay writing topic is related to general or business affairs.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) will accept scores obtained in class 12th and class 10th. The CAT score is not required to get admission at IIFT, Kakinada. One can join IIFT, Kakinada after clearing class 10th also. To be eligible for admission to the college one must have obtained 60% in class 10 and 55% if the candidate is from transgender category. A candidate can also join IIFT Kakinada after clearing the 12th.

Yes, for its MBA (International Business) and MBA (Business Analytics) programs, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), including its Kakinada campus, accepts scores from the Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission starting with the academic year 2024-25.

According to MBA Universe, the IIFT MBA (IB) fee is lower than the fees charged by other top B-schools, but the placements are similar. In 2021-2022, IIFT Kakinada had a 100% placement record, with an average salary package of INR 29.1 LPA and a the highest salary package of INR 85.4 LPA.
