You have to score excellent throughout your academic life, may it be 10th/12th/bachelors, etc. After that you have to have an excellent score in CAT (read 99%ile+) and then outperform the rest in personal interview to secure a seat at IIM-Ahmedabad. It is easier said than done. Hence, I would suggest you to give your best to secure a seat at IIM-A.

Your academics might be tad bit below average for IIM A profile. Still, I would suggest you try for 99.5+ percentile in CAT to expect a call from IIM A.

In case you have substantial work exp., I would suggest you to try for PGPX programme of IIM A. It catapults your career from lower management cadre to mid-higher management cadre within a few years provided you take the right turns and choices. In case you have less than 3 years of work exp., I would suggest you to pursue the PGP course of IIM A.

The 3 key secret to score excellent score in verbal (provided you have your basics right) is: practice, practice and practice. Hence, I would suggest you to first get your basics right by going through the prep materials for verbal and then enroll a test series SIMCAT/AIMCAT and keep practicing the RCs and grammar questions. Try not to commit the same mistake twice while practicing. With time, your verbal scores will improve.

Re-appear would not be a hindrance in your admission provided you cleared it and rest of the exams with a commendable percentage. As IIM A is more biased towards your academics, a good score is a kind of pre-requisite for the same.
