In order to be considered for admission to PGP courses at IIM Lucknow, candidates must receive a minimum of 90 percentile score on the CAT. The overall qualifying cut-off for PGP ASM and PGP SM is the 85 percentile. The CAT cutoffs differ according to categories.

No, CAT is not mandatory for admission to PhD/FPM in IIM Lucknow. It is one of the accepted examinations. Indian Institute of Management Lucknow admit candidates to FPM course with a valid score of GATE/GRE/GMAT or JRF/SRF (UGC/CSIR/ICAR) exams. Further, apart from this, it is also necessary that each aspirant fulfil the course-specific eligibility requirements. Candidates shortlisted based on exam score are also required to go through an interview round.

For admission to MBA (or PGP) 2024 batch at IIM Lucknow, the CAT test will be conducted on November 26, 2023. Aspirants of IIM Lucknow are required to appear for the exam in Computer Based Testing mode at the allotted test centres. CAT exam 2023 will be held in three slots:

  • Morning slot: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
  • Afternoon slot: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
  • Evening slot: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Earlier, the CAT exam used to be of 180 minutes with 100 questions but in 2020, both exam duration and number of questions were reduced due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now, starting CAT 2022, the total number of questions stands at 66 as part of CAT pattern.
