Apart from the IAT (Integrated Aptitude Test), the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) is also admitting students through the following channels:
1. KVPY Channel (discontinued since 2022) - now not an option for admission.
2. JEE Advanced Channel: If you possess a valid JEE Advanced rank under the relevant cutoff, you may get admission.
3. SCB Channel: Admission based on a candidate's 10+2 marks in Science stream and the CUET-UG score (which was recently introduced as a score for some IISERs ).
The channels may vary yearly, so always refer to the official IISER admission portal.

IISc Bangalore admission is competitive due to high cutoff and limited seats. The entrance tests required for getting admission in the institute are taken by many. Hence, the chances of securing seat becomes less. Students are required to perform well in the entrance exam required for their course to get admission in the institute. In 2024, the JEE Main closing R1 cutoff for General category candidates was 903 for BSc (Research) in Physics.
