IISWBM Kolkata has established various codes of conduct that the students must adhere to. These Codes of Conduct involves certain limitations on discipline and behaviour of self. The Institute has security forces to safeguard and maintain the decorum of the Institute and to make sure of the smooth processing of everyday activities at the campus. IISWBM Kolkata has a whole battalion of faculty members that attentively keep things in order and safe.

IISWBM Kolkata can be considered a good college as it was established in 1953 and is AICTE approved. The Institute is known to be the first B-School in South East Asia. It offers courses such as MBA/PGDM, PG Diploma, MSW, MPhil, Certificate etc. IISWBM Kolkata placement cell recorded the placement rate of 2023 as 90%. The Institute, therefore can be considered as a good Institute.

Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISMBM) is a private B school institute located in Kolkata. IISWBM primarily requires candidates to have a valid CAT score for admission into MBA programs. For most MBA programs, specially the MBA (Day) and MBA (HRM), a valid CAT score is mandatory. While CAT is the primary examination for admission, IISWBM also accepts scores from other exams such as MAT, CMAT, JEMAT, XAT, and GATE for certain programs. The current CAT cutoff to enter the master's in business administration at the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), Kolkata, is in the 70 percentile in the General category. The cutoff for the OBC, SC, and PwD categories is normally around 40 percentile. Admission requires CAT rankings, which are followed by group discussions (GD) and personal interview (PI) phases. Admission to the PG Diploma offered at IISWBM Kolkata is merit-based. Candidates have to appear for a written, group discussion and personal interview (GDPI) round depending upon the Diploma course they want to pursue.
