Candidates seeking admission for PGDM/MBA at IBA, must meet the course-specific eligibility criteria. Aspirants must pass graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for reserved category) from a recognised university. The selection of the candidates is entrance-based. Candidates must present the relevant documents supporting their eligibility. Students in the final year are also eligible to apply. The university accepts scores of CAT/ XAT/CMAT/ NMAT by GMAC/ MAT/ ATMA/ GMAT and others.

The candidates having aggregate (all subjects) 80% and above 10th, 12th and Graduation and having percentile/Composite Score as mentioned below in the Entrance Tests would be awarded Scholarships as stated below:

The selection criteria is based on the entrance test. Anyone with a bachelor's degree with atleast 50% marks in aggregate can give the entrance tests. There are various entrance examinations like CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA/GRE/GATE and The State Govt. Entrance Tests like MAH-CET, KMAT etc.
At first the candidates are shortlisted based on the marks they've scored in the entrance tests then they've to appear in Group Discussions and Personal Interview.The total intake of IBA is 180.
